Focus, Patience and Eight Victories

Official tournament records show that Aditya defeated every opponent he faced from Botswana, Gabon, South Africa, Burundi, Madagascar, Lesotho and Mozambique. Yet when he speaks about the tournament, he focuses less on winning than on thinking.

One lesson stood above all others: focus and slow down.

Watching another player rush through games reinforced that principle. Aditya noticed that speed without thought created mistakes, while patience created opportunities.

“He was moving too fast,” Aditya recalls. “When he slowed down and started thinking more, he started winning.”

At eight years old, he had already learned one of life’s most enduring lessons: success does not always come from moving faster. Sometimes it comes from thinking better.
