Every Move Matters

Although Aditya won individual gold, this was never a one-person story. Representing Tanzania were four young players who carried the nation’s hopes together, each accepting a different responsibility across the board.

Mika Mhina led Board One and scored 5 points from 8 games, facing some of the championship’s strongest opponents. Riaan George earned 4 points from 8 games, contributing valuable results under pressure. Devanshi Singh, Aditya’s older sister, also finished with 4 points from 8 games, bringing determination and consistency to Board Three.

Then there was Aditya on Board Four.

Eight games. Eight victories. Perfection.

Together, the team helped Tanzania finish fifth in the African continental competition. Their result was not built by one player alone. Every board created pressure for the opposition. Every point changed the standings. Every player carried part of the national responsibility.
