Editorial decisions are made by the URT Stories editorial team. Advertising, sponsorship and partnership arrangements never influence story selection, treatment or placement. Sponsored and partner content is clearly labelled as such and is never presented as editorial.
We prioritise original reporting and long-form profiles of Tanzanians — builders, leaders, creatives, scientists and public servants — whose work has shaped the country. Our goal is accuracy, fairness and lasting documentary value.
Stories name their sources wherever possible. Direct quotes are reproduced accurately and in context. Where a source must remain anonymous for safety or professional reasons, we state that the subject was interviewed and explain the decision.
Facts are checked before publication against primary sources, official records and, where possible, multiple independent accounts. Figures and historical claims are attributed to their origin.
Profiles are fair to their subjects while remaining honest to the record. Where a story touches on controversy, we reflect the relevant context and differing perspectives.
